5 iPhone: switch to Qualcomm baseband chip?

According to persistent rumors Apple is already working on next-generation iPhone , called iPhone for the time 5. Theoretically, this article would make more sense not imagine a 4S iPhone (or iPhone with four changes) in the next coming months, partly because the process of design and production of a new phone can occupy a full 18 months. It is safe to assume that Apple is working and other rumors indicate that the Hon Hai Group (better known as Foxconn) I'll continue to produce the iPhone, even in the case of 5.

If these rumors were confirmed, Apple may change the supplier of baseband chips for iPhone 5. Until now, the supplier for 3G iPhone and iPad was Infineon, a company recently acquired by Intel for a very important figure. It seems that the iPhone baseband chip will reach 5 instead of Qualcomm, and Apple will continue to draw their own processors.

It seems that this change may have to do with an iPhone exclusively for CDMA networks: if Apple wants to create an iPhone for CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint should use a Qualcomm baseband chip or the like (since they created the CDMA) becomes therefore more convenient to extend the Agreement also GSM versions of the product. Are just speculation, of course.
