China: identification needed to obtain a SIM card

China is a country known for its bureaucracy to limit of exhausting and constant attention to the complaint. From the perspective of "mobile" China has one of the most powerful and important telephone operators in the world, China Mobile. Recently passed a law requiring the complete identification of those who buy a SIM card and this also applies to passing tourists in the country.

As someone already discussing the increasingly urgent phenomenon control, there is really to consider the world scene: here in Italy we have to provide identity card and tax identification number to activate a number, as in Spain and soon in the USA. This does not apply to all nations, it seems that in Finland, for example a complete identification is not required to purchase a SIM, as well as in some African states.

In China, 785 million mobile users, or twice the U.S. population. According to statistics issued, an average person in China receives 43 text messages a week, 12 of which are advertisements or spam. Identification required to purchase a SIM card should take more control over unwanted messages, the messages pornography, fraud and terrorism. Chinese citizens now can have a "maximum" of 18 SIM cards per person.
