Nokia Ovi officially closes Files

Nokia announced the closure of the service Ovi Files scheduled for October 2010 Prime. The service, design very similar to Dropbox was one of the solutions of save files based on cloud: Ovi Files allows you to store and access their files from a remote server, based on Avvenu technology acquired from three years ago. Despite the wide use, this solution has proved a waste of money by Nokia.

The logic of Nokia, Ovi brand since its launch in 2007, was to get enough gain thanks to the numerous sales of its terminals. According to Nokia, selling 100 million phones every quarter, even if only 1% of the buyers had paid even one dollar per month for additional services, there were 3 million more dollars of profit each quarter. The concept was applied to Ovi Music Contacts Ovi, Ovi Mail, Calendar Ovi, Ovi Chats and so on.

This logic seems to fail gradually.
